What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I prefer running just one lineup, mainly in smaller fields, though I’ll also drop it into large fields. My plan is to stay underweight on the Mariners, banking on a possible hangover after last night’s division-clinching win. Instead, I’ll mix in a couple of Mets and look to gain leverage if the field flocks to Imanaga as the clear chalk with such limited pitching options.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. The clear and obvious best offenses are the Yankees and Mariners, and I am in on both. I will first go to the KC/LAA game to homer-hunt and help fill out my lineups. I want to prioritize Carlos Rodon, but if I can’t quite get there, Shota Imanaga is my next choice. I think Emerson Hancock is ever so slightly better at throwing baseballs than the Rockies are at hitting them, so if I’m desperate for salary, I’ll roll him out as an SP2 on DK. I’m going to try my best to play Cal Raleigh in single-entry contests, as I think he will go mostly ignored there.
ebeimfohr: I’ll be playing small-field tournaments, and it’s a pretty straightforward game plan. The pitching slate leaves a lot to be desired, and there are a couple offensive spots that stand out on a different tier from the rest of the slate. Those offenses are certainly more popular, so I’ll be diving into some uncertainty and lower floor pitching to make those lineups work in tournaments.
