MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 21

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Fernando Tatis Jr.
headChopper: Fernando Tatis Jr.
stevietpfl: Fernando Tatis Jr.
Dean78904: Fernando Tatis Jr.

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I like single-entry and smaller-field tournaments, where we should see fairly high ownership on the Padres and some more condensed pitching ownership. My favorite plays on this slate, not even factoring in the pOWN%, should be on the sneakier side, allowing me to play them in single entry without any issue. On the pitching side, this includes Jesus Luzardo and Kris Bubic. On the hitting side, my focus will be non-stacked lineups on FD with so many great hitters underpriced. And I’ll have groups of mini stacks with power bats on DK. Or I’ll lean into teams like the Blue Jays and Diamondbacks when full stacking.

headChopper: I am going to play 1 lineup in smaller-field GPPs. This will allow me to still get a good piece of the Padres stack without having to worry too much about being drastically different, as I would in large-field contests. I will probably end up spending up at both pitcher spots, grab what I want from Coors Field bats, and then round out my roster by trying to find some very cheap one-off hitters from other teams.

stevietpfl: I will focus on 3 to 5 lineups in small-field contests. I’m going to be underweight on Coors and overweight on the Angels, Mariners, Diamondbacks, White Sox, and Blue Jays. I think all these offenses can outscore Coors Field. With the number of bats I like, I will be building anything from 5-man stacks to 3-3-2-type stacks. With being underweight on Coors, I’m just going to play the pitchers I want. Nolan McLean, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Kris Bubic, and Jesus Luzardo are my favorite pitching options.

Dean78904: I prefer single-entry and smaller-field contests. I don’t make a lot of lineups, and I expect my SP pool to be pretty exclusive and pricey. Ideally, my pool will consist of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Nolan McLean, and Kris Bubic. I may open the door for Shota Imanaga or Jesus Luzardo, but hopefully that’s it. Former Rockies top prospect Chase Dolander is showing positive signs to justify all the attention, and maybe he is on the path to being good. Sure, get your Padres in cash games, but the thought of fading them in Coors Field in tournaments is much less daunting than the Dodgers were in previous days. I presume I’ll end up with some, but I expect to have less than the field. I don’t have a clear-cut favorite stack, but if I had to pick a team that is most likely to be the focus of my main lineup, it would be the Angels.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
