MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, August 12

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

stevietpfl: Shohei Ohtani
Notorious: Munetaka Murakami
TJ Zwarych: Shohei Ohtani

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on 3-5 lineups for small-field tournaments. This slate is the opposite of the one yesterday. We have a lack of pitching options and only a handful of stacks I like. Foster Griffin and Framber Valdez add a couple of extra options on FD. The Cubs stack on FD is also a bonus, with an unproven lefty making his debut for the Nationals. Ranger Suarez, Bryce Miller, and Tyler Mahle are the pitchers I like on DK. I like the White Sox and Rangers as a pivot off of the Dodgers, but those three teams will be my highest-owned stacks. When playing the Dodgers, I’ll look for stacks that are projecting for lower ownership.

Notorious: I’m going to test my luck in the small-field tournament streets tonight. My way to be different is going to be to save at pitcher. While most will spend up on Ranger Suarez and/or Bryce Miller, I’m going to take my chances with Tyler Mahle and Luis Castillo. They are both pitching at home, and I like the way their respective matchups set up for them. This will allow me to eat some of the White Sox and Dodgers chalk.

TJ Zwarych: My preference is to play 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I want to take the opposite approach from usual by using a tight pool of hitters and spreading out my pitchers. I’ll load up on the Dodgers and White Sox while playing a bunch of different pitchers, except for the chalky Luis Castillo, who I’ll fade entirely.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
