MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, June 12

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in large-field tournaments?

squirrelpatrol: Bobby Witt Jr.
ebeimfohr: Julio Rodriguez
TheLuuch: Pete Alonso
Alex Sonty: Bryce Harper

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

squirrelpatrol: David Peterson – There are some very appealing bats to spend up for today, which makes David Peterson very valuable as a value option with an excellent matchup today. Peterson is way too cheap facing a Marlins team that ranks last in wOBA vs LHP, and last in the league with a .098 ISO against lefties.

ebeimfohr: Cristopher Sanchez – When a left-handed pitcher with a pulse is facing the Red Sox, I sit up a bit in my chair. Sanchez definitely has a pulse. The Red Sox have struck out against LHP like it’s going out of style, and they have little to no offensive upside. Sanchez has a K rate over 22% and an xFIP barely over 3.00 the last 2 seasons.

TheLuuch: Nick Pivetta – It seems like Pivetta may be an afterthought tonight. Plenty of other pitchers are in good matchups, and he gets a duel with one of the best offenses in baseball. But that doesn’t make Pivetta a bad pitcher – if he’s on, he’s on. He’s struck out at least 8 hitters in 4 of his last 5 outings. Pivetta owns a K rate better than 30% this season. He does give up barrels, and he gets hit pretty hard, so it’s a little scary, but the bottom of the Phillies lineup is projected to start David Dahl, Garrett Stubbs, and Johan Rojas. That shouldn’t scare anyone away. Pivetta is projected to come in at very low ownership on both sites, and he could be a real difference-maker when paired with popular stacks.

Alex Sonty: David Peterson – Peterson is likely gonna catch some ownership but still might go under-owned (in the ~25% range). He’s a lefty with a 24.2% K rate since the start of the 2023 season with average power prevention pitching in Citi Field against a Marlins projected lineup with just a .297 wOBA and .131 ISO against LHP. We have him projected for the 3rd-highest raw-points ceiling, and he’s dirt cheap on both sites.
