MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, September 9

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

stevietpfl: Shohei Ohtani
Notorious: Shohei Ohtani
TJ Zwarych: Shohei Ohtani

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on 3-5 lineups in small-field tournaments. This is an interesting slate from a pitching perspective. I think there is a lot of risk/reward on this slate. I think Yoshinobu Yamamoto has the highest floor and one of the highest ceilings. The options with high risk/reward that I like are Cristopher Sanchez, Kevin Gausman, and Jake Bennett. Hitting-wise, I think the Yankees, Red Sox, and Dodgers are the top stacks. To be different, I’m going to be underweight on the Red Sox. I like the Rays, Royals, and White Sox as secondary stacks.

Notorious: This is a very interesting slate. We have 3 elite arms to spend up on, but we have 2 elite offenses in exploitable matchups. Unfortunately, this thing called the salary cap isn’t going to allow us to play the expensive arms with the expensive hitters. I’m going to play small-field tournaments, and I’m tempted to avoid the expensive pitching options completely. It’s not that I don’t like them, but I want as much exposure as possible to the hitters on the Yankees and Dodgers.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I plan to rely heavily on Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Will Warren while pairing them on DK with options who are projecting for lower ownership (e.g. Foster Griffin, Hunter Brown). The Yankees are my favorite stack, but few other teams stand out, so I’ll mix and match mini stacks alongside them.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
