Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Monday 7/6

Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS picks

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to muse about the July 6, 2026 MLB DFS slate.

Happy Monday! We have a slower day, with just a 7-game main slate that starts a few minutes earlier than normal at 6:40 PM ET. This is one of those weird slates where there is very little pitching to like but also kind of not much offense to like either. There are just a couple of obvious standouts on both sides, who are priced accordingly, and then we all get to throw the same mediocre darts.

There are some MLB weather concerns in the HOU/WSH game, but at this point, I’m planning to be able to use hitters in that game. If that changes, I’ll have to cancel all my entries in a hurry!

Monday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

Schlittler of the Yankees

This looks like a tricky pitching slate, where we have one obvious ace who is priced accordingly and then a whole slew of kind-of-OK pitchers who are something in the realm of average. I don’t even see much need for tiers today, unless we’re just putting Cam Schlittler in his own tier ahead of everyone else.

This is a tough decision with Cam Schlittler up top. On the one hand, there is no question that he is the best pitcher on this slate by a wide margin. On the other hand, he’s $11,000 on DK and $10,900 on FD and is facing a pesky, lower-strikeout lineup with a lot of patience. I am completely ignoring his season-worst 6-run outing from last week, as that looks like a clear outlier. But before that, what we find is that Schlittler is more about consistency than ceiling. He has just 1 start all season with double-digit strikeouts and has reached 30+ DK points in 5 of his 18 starts. Of course, those are high bars to reach, but when a guy is priced this far ahead of the field, simply being very good is not necessarily enough. I’m going in with the assumption that something like 20-25 DK points and 35-40 FD points is what we get from Schlittler. There is no one else on this slate where I can expect anything like that, but those also aren’t scores that are likely to win a tournament at his salary. Let’s see what else we find on this slate and then loop back.
