Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Tuesday 5/19

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the May 19, 2026 MLB DFS slate.
Happy Tuesday! We have an interesting 10-game slate, where there is only 1 game with a projected total above 9 runs. We also have two of the best pitchers in the league, but they are in tougher matchups at higher salaries where they may not even up being the chalk. It looks like the MLB weather is going to cooperate tonight, so let’s jump right in and see what we find.
Tuesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

We have a very interesting pitching slate, with the two highest-strikeout pitchers in the league who are both at high salaries and in tough matchups. Those two are in their own pricing tier, but I will include everyone from $8,000 and up on DK in the top tier. Also, so as not to bury the lead, I’m going to add Reid Detmers to the top tier, as he is only $7,300 on DK and is projecting as the best play on the slate.
TOP TIER PITCHING
- Jacob Misiorowski at Cubs – 39.6% K, 8.4% BB, 2.12 ERA, 2.26 SIERA
- Dylan Cease at Yankees – 34.6% K, 9.7% BB, 2.41 ERA, 2.81 SIERA
- Will Warren vs. Blue Jays – 29.8% K, 6.1% BB, 3.42 ERA, 2.89 SIERA
- Ranger Suarez at Royals – 23.7% K, 6.5% BB, 2.44 ERA, 3.59 SIERA
- Landen Roupp at Diamondbacks – 28.9% K, 10.4% BB, 3.49 ERA, 3.37 SIERA
- Zebby Matthews vs. Astros – 2nd start of season
- Emmet Sheehan at Padres – 28% K, 6.9% BB. 4.54 ERA, 3.16 SIERA
- Reid Detmers vs. A’s – 24.9% K, 8% BB, 4.38 ERA, 3.68 SIERA
With the other-worldly strikeout ability of Jacob Misiorowski, I barely care about matchup at all. The dude already has double-digit strikeouts in 4 of his 9 starts, and he has a silly 80 strikeouts in 51 innings overall. There is perhaps the tiniest of red flags that he left his last start with quad cramps, but it sounds like that was all it was and should be no issue moving forward. Plus, he was already at 10 strikeouts in 7 scoreless innings at that point. The Cubs are not an easy matchup, but Misiorowski is so much better than everyone else that it just doesn’t matter who he’s facing. It is also good hitting weather again in Wrigley Field, although it doesn’t really look overly extreme, and of course, if everyone strikes out, weather just doesn’t matter one iota. To me, Misiorowski is the clear SP1 on any slate he’s on in any matchup until he gives us any reason to doubt him. The issue here is going to be salary, and at $11,000 on both sites, I do not see him as a must-play. Let’s move on, see what else we find, and then decide how much to prioritize him.
