Happy Wednesday! I don’t know about you, but I am thrilled to see that it is no longer Tuesday. That was some nonsense! We are back to the drawing board tonight, with a 9-game main slate that starts a little earlier than usual at 6:40 PM ET. But we’ve also got some day baseball, so I’ll start with a quick look at the early 5-game DK slate, which starts at 1:10 PM ET.

Wednesday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings

We have two very clear top-tier aces that should see massive ownership on this slate, and my initial lean is not to overthink it. But let’s see what we find.

TOP TIER PITCHING

• Logan Gilbert vs. A’s – 31.5% K, 5.5% BB, 3.54 ERA, 2.88 SIERA
• Jose Soriano vs. Blue Jays – 22.6% K, 10.8% BB, 3.61 ERA, 3.82 SIERA
• Tanner Bibee vs. Astros – 21.3% K, 7.2% BB, 4.31 ERA, 4.13 SIERA

This slate looks super simple to me if you have salary. Logan Gilbert and Jose Soriano are the standout aces, and I don’t think it’s remotely close. That is, of course, with buying into the hot start for Jose Soriano, which I do. It’s not as if he’s never going to have another bad start. He certainly will. And he won’t end up with a 32.5% K rate like he has through 5 starts. But he’s clearly improved, and he can regress a lot and still be ahead of Tanner Bibee.

I think the bigger question would be, if you can only afford one ace, is it Logan Gilbert or Jose Soriano? I could argue that one either way, but I’m still going to side with the longer track record of…
