Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Wednesday 7/29

Happy Wednesday! We’ve got a split slate kind of day, with both sites running a 5-game early slate starting at 12:10 PM ET and then a main slate that begins at 7:10 PM ET.
That evening slate has one game that is different between the sites, as DK is including Game 2 of the ATL/NYM doubleheader, while FD is not. It looks like we may finally get a good MLB weather day with no postponed games, so let’s dive right in and see what we find.
Wednesday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel
We have two elite aces headlining this early slate, making the tiers very easy to see.
TOP TIER DUO
- Tarik Skubal vs. Orioles – 31.5% K, 3.7% BB, 2.70 ERA, 2.62 SIERA
- Jesus Luzardo at Marlins – 29.9% K, 7.5% BB, 3.31 ERA, 3.12 SIERA
Tarik Skubal and Jesus Luzardo are both superstars, and they are both priced way ahead of the rest of the field on both sites. Skubal has looked closer to his old self, and his old self was basically the best pitcher in the world before the Miz showed up. He’s pitched 7 innings in back-to-back games, with 21 strikeouts in those 14 innings, and that’s now 9+ strikeouts in 6 of his last 7 starts. He’d be the SP1 in any matchup, and we add in a plus matchup with the Orioles being a high-strikeout lineup against LHP. $11,000 on DK and $11,100 on FD are very fair asking prices, and I’ll try to get him everywhere.
Jesus Luzardo is very close to as good as Skubal, with the same kind of upside, as he’s picked up 9+ strikeouts in 5 of his last 7 starts. It’s not quite as good of a strikeout matchup as what Skubal has, but it is better to face Miami with lefties. On FD, where they are only $700 apart…
