Happy Wednesday! We have another busy Wednesday with games all over the place. I’ll start with a quick peek at the early 6-game slate on DK, which starts at 1:10 PM ET. We will also have an early Crunch Time at 12:20 PM ET to go over any final thoughts on these afternoon games.

Then I’ll be back with a look at the 6-game evening slate for both FD and DK, which begins at 7:10 PM ET.

Wednesday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

This is a weird and tricky pitching slate. We have two high-upside pitchers that should garner a ton of ownership, and then after a small mid-tier of pitchers with small sample sizes, we have a tangle of below-average pitchers in good matchups.

TWO WITH ACE POTENTIAL

Garrett Crochet vs. Nationals – 34.2% K, 4.8% BB, 4.63 ERA, 2.36 SIERA
Michael King vs. Rockies – 25.6% K, 11.4% BB, 3.67 ERA, 3.99 SIERA

SMALL SAMPLES AND MID-TIER MAYBES

Bryan Woo vs. Royals – 2nd start of season
Robert Gasser vs. Pirates – 2nd start of career
Brandon Pfaadt vs. Reds – 21.1% K, 4% BB, 4.60 ERA, 3.67 SIERA
Andrew Abbott at Diamondbacks – 20.8% K, 6.7% BB, 3.35 ERA, 4.28 SIERA

CHEAP, GOOD MATCHUPS, SHAKY SKILLS

Casey Mize vs. Marlins – 16% K, 5.6% BB, 3.58 ERA, 4.18 SIERA
Alec Marsh at Mariners – 18.5% K, 6.9% BB, 2.53 ERA, 4.33 SIERA
Patrick Corbin at White Sox – 14.8% K, 8.2% BB, 5.91 ERA, 4.66 SIERA
Trevor Rogers – 17.2% K, 9.4% BB, 6.57 ERA, 4.51 SIERA

Michael King has been all over the place in his first season as a full-time starter. He has 2 double-digit strikeout games, with his other 7 appearances all coming with 6 or fewer strikeouts. His control has been a bit all over the place as well, but the overall number is skewed from one bad start in March. Because his latest big start came against the Dodgers, I think everyone is going to focus on the upside here, and it’s certainly viable in this matchup. Officially, I would call him the clear SP1 because of the matchup and his strikeout ability, but this is a spot where I’m nervous about ownership on a guy who is not a sure thing at this point in his career. If you want the guy who is most likely to score the most points with no concerns about what could be 60%+ ownership, then this is your guy. Personally, I will be under the field and just hope it doesn’t bury me.
