Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Wednesday 5/27

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the May 27, 2026 MLB DFS slate.
Happy Wednesday! We have a split slate kind of day with games spread out all day long. The main slates on both sites start a little earlier than usual at 6:35 PM ET. Those main slates are slightly different between the sites, as FD has cut off the one late-night game with COL/LAD, leaving that as an 8-game slate vs. the 9-gamer on DK.
We’ll start with a look at the early DK slate, which has 6 games starting at 1:07 PM ET, which is about 7 minutes after lunchtime begins!
Wednesday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings

We have some very good pitchers on this early slate, headlined by Cristopher Sanchez, who continues to look like one of the best pitchers in the league at an elevated price tag.
TOP TIER PITCHING
- Cristopher Sanchez at Padres – 29.1% K, 5.4% BB, 1.62 ERA, 2.55 SIERA
- Kevin Gausman vs. Marlins – 23.6% K, 3.9% BB, 3.23 ERA, 3.35 SIERA
- Gavin Williams vs. Nationals – 30.3% K, 7.9% BB, 3.25 ERA, 2.98 SIERA
- Logan Gilbert at A’s – 25% K, 5.6% BB, 4.04 ERA, 3.40 SIERA
- Michael Soroka at Giants – 24.5% K, 6% BB, 3.27 ERA, 3.40 SIERA
The last time Cristopher Sanchez allowed a run, I had a head full of hair and dial-up internet. He’s been amazing for 2 straight years, but these last 4 starts are another level with a 36:3 K:BB ratio and going 7+ innings in all of them without allowing a run. At some point, BABIP will saddle him with a few runs, but even then, he’ll be awesome. Add in a great matchup, and he’s the very clear SP1 on this slate if you have the salary. The only issue today is that he is appropriately priced at $10,500, and we do have some very good pitchers below $9,000, so let’s take a look there and then evaluate the salary.
Gavin Williams has a higher strikeout rate than Sanchez, and his control has vastly improved this season as well. He doesn’t have quite the same level of efficiency as Sanchez, but he’s still regularly getting 95-100 pitches and 6 innings and has gone 7+ innings 4 times already this season. The Nationals have been a very tough matchup for righties this season, but Williams is pretty close to matchup proof. As long as his control continues, this guy is an ace.
I certainly prefer…
