Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Wednesday 5/6

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the May 6, 2026 MLB DFS slate.
Happy Wednesday! We have a busy day of baseball, with games spread out all over the place. The main slate is a 9-gamer that starts a bit earlier than usual at 6:40 PM ET. But we’ll start with a quick peek at the early 6-game DK slate, which begins at 1:10 PM ET.
Wednesday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings

The early slate has a clear gap between pitching tiers, with four pitchers priced at $8,500 and up and then nothing else above $7,200.
TOP TIER PITCHING
- Tyler Glasnow at Astros – 30% K, 11% BB, 3.00 ERA, 3.63 SIERA
- Bryan Woo vs. Braves – 25.3% K, 4.7% BB, 3.24 ERA, 3.47 SIERA
- Shane McClanahan vs. Blue Jays – 24.8% K, 10.7% BB, 3.10 ERA, 4.08 SIERA
- Noah Schultz at Angels – 23.5% K, 14.1% BB, 2.53 ERA, 4.72 SIERA
If we look at just 2026 numbers, Tyler Glasnow jumps even further ahead of the pack here, while Bryan Woo drops way off to just a 17.5% strikeout rate. I really want to say that Woo is going to be fine, and I think he is, but this is a disturbing drop-off. He has 3 or fewer strikeouts in 4 of his last 5 starts, and his fly balls have increased, with the home runs coming along for the ride in his last 2 starts. There is nothing alarming under the hood, so most likely, the 6 HRs in his last 2 starts have just been fluky-high HR/FB%, but when combined with the drop in strikeouts, I have to be a little concerned here.
Meanwhile, Tyler Glasnow was rolling along better than ever before his old control woes popped up again last week. He walked 6 Marlins, while allowing 2 HRs, but he also struck out another 9 batters, leaving him at 47 strikeouts in 38 innings this season.
So at this moment, we don’t know for sure if Woo’s home-run issues are real or if Glasnow’s control issues are back. And we don’t know where Woo’s true strikeout level is going to land. But we do know that Glasnow is a far better strikeout pitcher than Woo, even before the massive gap between them started growing this season.
All that is to say that Glasnow is the clear SP1 for me, and while he should be the highest owned as well, this is a ‘Don’t Overthink It.’
After Glasnow, we then need to decide if we want to believe enough in Woo bouncing back or if we prefer Shane McClanahan or Noah Schultz.
