MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Monday, August 25th
Opto% Stack
Detroit Tigers at Athletics (J.T. Ginn)
The Tigers offer a compelling stack opportunity today against Ginn, as evidenced by the best Opto% and 3rd-best stack rating in projections. With an implied team total of 5.28 runs, they are strategically positioned to exploit Ginn’s pronounced splits, particularly his struggles against lefties.
Ginn’s splits this season showcase a stark contrast: a formidable 33.6% strikeout rate and .151 ISO allowed to righties, versus a vulnerable 16.9% strikeout rate, 10.5% walk rate, and a significant .294 ISO allowed to lefties. This positions lefty power hitters like Riley Greene and Kerry Carpenter as top priorities, matching the Yankees in appeal on the slate.
Complementing Greene and Carpenter are players such as Colt Keith, Zach McKinstry, and Wenceel Perez, who add depth and salary relief to the stack. Amongst this cheaper trio, Keith also stands out as a viable one-off option.
Overall, the Tigers’ ability to potentially capitalize on Ginn’s weaknesses, particularly against lefties, positions them as one of the top stacks on the slate.

Opto% Stack
Kansas City Royals at Chicago White Sox (Shane Smith)
The Royals against Smith are another solid stack option, as they have the 3rd-best Opto% and 6th-best Value% in projections. Their 4.47 implied run total is also one of the highest on the slate.
While Smith is a solid pitcher, hoping for an early entry into the White Sox bullpen offers the Royals a pathway to capitalize offensively. Vinnie Pasquantino stands out as a key piece of the stack. While he might draw a decent amount of ownership due to his favorable matchup, he remains a priority play if going with a Royals stack. Additional stack pieces are the same names whenever we target a Royals stack: Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez.
Overall, leveraging the Royals’ potential against Smith and a mediocre White Sox bullpen could vault DFS players up the leaderboards tonight, and it helps that the Royals will have a guaranteed 9 innings of at-bats as the road team in Chicago.
