Pitcher Grind Down
- Hiroki Kuroda – Kuroda has continued to struggle and not live up to last years good season. He has a 4.03 ERA and a disappointing 7-8 record. He gets to face a Rays team that Kuroda has struggled a bit against over the course of the last 3 seasons. In 5 starts, he has a 7.36 ERA and has allowed a BAA of .293. Kuroda is a deep GPP only play if the price is cheap, but I cannot trust him at this time. Rating = 5

- Jeremy Hellickson – Hellboy has pitched very well since returning from the DL. He has been allowed a deeper pitch count now after making 5 starts and has a 2.03 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. He has a tough matchup against the Yankees, but I think makes a great GPP option today due to his low price across the industry. Rating = 5

Mark Teixeira – Tex is the only big time hitter in this offense that seems to be hitting. He is also 6/16 off of Hellickson and would be the only Yankee I trust today.
Tampa Bay
Matt Joyce – One of my favorite splits guys, Joyce is always in play against a RH bat. He gets to hit 3rd in the order and has come through on a number of occasions. Add this to the fact that he is 7/20 with 3 home runs off of Kuroda and you have a solid option today.

- Jeremy Guthrie – Guthrie is cheap across the industry for a reason. He has a 4.45 ERA and an 8-10 record. He allows lefties to mash him which does not bode well for him today as the Twins have a few that hit high in the order. Avoid him in all formats. Rating = 4

- Tommy Milone – Milone made his first start for the Twins last week and his home run woes continued. He has allowed 14 in 17 starts this season. Until he shows us that he can pitch a full game without a few mistakes, he is an avoid. Rating = 4

Josh Willingham – He got to them in the first game against his old squad and this matchup lines up for him to do it again today. He has a wOBA of .348 against lefties this year and should have a few RBI opportunities today.

Danny Santana – He is on a bit of a heater at the moment. He has 11 hits in his last 28 at bats and is stealing a bag every few games. He should be in run scoring position a lot today.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Drew Hutchison – Hutchison has had a very up and down season that has resulted in an overall ERA of 4.60. He has pitched much better away from Rogers Centre and has an away ERA of 3.66. He will look to carry that good away ERA into U.S. Cellular which means he needs to be aware of Abreu today. If he can steer clear of Jose, he could pitch well. Having Chris Sale opposite of him takes away a lot of win fantasy value and I think there are better options at the mid/lower tier level. Rating = 4

- Scott Carroll – Carroll is being asked to move up in the rotation and start in front of Sale today. This changes everything about the game as Carroll has struggled mightily. He recently allowed 5 runs in 5 innings to this Blue Jays squad and now that they are getting healthy, Carroll is an easy avoid. Rating = 3

Edwin Encarnacion – It is good to see EE back in the lineup and getting a hit yesterday. He was one of the best batters in the league prior to going down with an injury and I think he rounds into form right away with a matchup against Carroll who has struggled against both RH and LH batters.

Chicago White Sox
Jose Abreu – All the Sox lefties now hit in the back end of the lineup which makes them a bit hard to pay up for. Abreu on the other hand has had his salary drop a bit across the industry, but still has the power to dominate any pitcher in the league.

- Odrisamer Despaigne – After a rough two game stretch, Despaigne bounced back to shut down the Rockies offense at Petco (7inn, 0 earned runs). The problem today is he will be facing the Cardinals who lit him up for 6 earned runs just 2 weeks ago. I do not see him pitching that poorly, but I would like this play much more if he was pitching in the pitcher friendly Petco. He will have little run support today and has a very low 5.75 K/9, which depresses his overall value tonight. Rating = 6

- Adam Wainwright – Wainwright has had a lot of concerning talk about him being injured and it has shown on the field. He has pitched a bit better in his last 2 starts, but still allowed 5 earned runs in 14 innings pitched. He wins the matchup lottery today against the Padres, which, due to his overall price drop, could put him right back in play today. If you want to take a bit of a risk on an ace and a huge favorite, this is the only matchup, at the moment, that I feel comfortable playing Waino in. Rating = 8

- Hector Santiago – Santiago has actually not pitched terrible for the Angels in his 16 starts this season. He has a 3.59 ERA, but he has a lot of problems that makes him not fantasy relevant. He walks a lot of batters and does not seen to go past 6 innings or 100 pitches in any of his starts. This really limits his value and although the Rangers are not the team of old, the game is in Globe and the Rangers do hit lefties well (.327 team wOBA). Rating = 4

- Nick Tepesch – The Rangers have a lot of below average pitchers they throw out there this year and Tepesch is one of them. He has a 4+ ERA on the season and a horrid 4.86 K/9. He has a tough matchup in a hitters park, avoid him. Rating = 3

Kole Calhoun – One of the simplest decisions recently has been taking Calhoun at sites like DK and FD. His price has been affordable and he has been raking with 11 hits in his last 21 ABs with 5 extra base hits.

Alex Rios – Rios is a top option today as he is very cheap and has crushed LH bats for a wOBA of .418.
