Pitcher Grind Down
- Ryan Vogelsong – Vogelsong has pitched better as of late. He has brought his season ERA down to 3.73 and has not allowed more than 2 earned runs in his last 4 starts. He is another guy though that does not strike out enough people to be a fantasy option. Add that to the fact that he may have to pitch a gem to get the win, and he is a tough player to play today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6500 FD, $13100 DD, $7500 DK, $NA FF, $17900 SS, $13200 FTD
- Stephen Strasburg – Strasburg really has some unreal home/away splits this year. He gets to pitch at home today where he has a 2.30 ERA, 116 strike outs in 94 innings and has a .226 BAA. This sets up perfectly for Strasburg as the Giants are 24th in the league in team wOBA against RH pitching (.299). He is a top option today. Rating = 9
Salaries: $9800 FD, $20850 DD, $10200 DK, $ FF, $26000 SS, $20850 FTD

San Francisco
Stras is my favorite option on the board today, avoid the bats here.
Washington
Adam LaRoche – Vogelsong has struggled a bit against lefties on the year and LaRoche may make a good punt play at the first base position as his price should be depressed as he is hitting below .200 recently.
Additional Plays: Denard Span, Bryce Harper

Pitcher Grind Down
- Justin Masterson – The transition to the NL has not gone as well as I thought it would for Masterson. He threw one great game against the Marlins, but has allowed 14 earned runs in the other 3 starts combined. He now has to take on the struggling offense of the Phillies, which adds to his value, but is way to hard to trust until he shows more consistency. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6100 FD, $9550 DD, $5800 DK, $NA FF, $13000 SS, $9550 FTD
- Jerome Williams – Williams has actually been decent in his two starts for the Phillies as he has given up only 3 earned runs in 12.1 innings. He still does have that 5.91 ERA on the year and is still allowed a BAA of .300. Avoid him today. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5400 FD, $8850 DD, $5300 DK, $ FF, $13000 SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
St. Louis
Matt Adams – Jerome has struggled across the board this year, but has really gotten mashed by lefties as he has allowed a wOBA of .386 against them. Adams makes a great cheap option at 1st.
Additional Plays: Matt Carpenter, Matt Holliday ,Jhonny Peralta
Philadelphia
Chase Utley – Utley has a great spot to hit in today as Masterson’s struggles against lefties have been apparent for a while now (wOBA of over .400 allowed).
Additional Plays: Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins

Pitcher Grind Down
- Vance Worley – Worley finally came back down to Earth in his last 2 starts. Prior to allowing 5 and 3 earned runs, he did go on a run of 4 straight games of 1 earned run allowed or less. With that said, he is a big underdog in a game with a 8’ total, which makes me nervous to play him here today. He does make a GPP play as his price is very low. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6300 FD, $14350 DD, $7200 DK, $NA FF, $19300 SS, $14350 FTD
- Mike Fiers – Fiers is someone that may fly under the radar today. He has pitched very well in his 3 starts this year and has allowed only 2 earns runs in 21 innings pitched. He has backed that up with 25 strike outs in those 21 innings as well. Due to this and his price, I think he makes one of the top low price GPP options out there. Rating = 6
Salaries: $6500 FD, $11700 DD, $8500 DK, $ FF, $26500 SS, $ FTD

Pittsburgh
Josh Harrison – It doesn’t matter who is pitching, Harrison has been on fire and has kept it up. He has 5 hits, 3 doubles and a home run in his last 3 games.
Milwaukee
Scooter Gennett – This play is very dependent on where the Brewers put Gennett in the lineup today. If he is high up there, he makes a great play as his price seems to be cheap in a lot of spots and is coming off a bomb yesterday.
Additional Plays: Ryan Braun, Carlos Gomez

Pitcher Grind Down
- Max Scherzer – Scherzer is coming off a poor effort in his last start against the Rays. He will now look to get back on track against a ridiculously hot Twins squad. Scherzer’s 10.48 K/9 adds a ton to his fantasy value, but after watching what this Twins squad has done recently, I put him at the end of the studs list tonight. Rating = 8
Salaries: $11300 FD, $22450 DD, $12700 DK, $NA FF, $32500 SS, $22450 FTD
- Kyle Gibson – Gibson has been an average RH pitcher all season long for the Twins. he has a 4.13 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP on the year. He has a very tough matchup against the Tigers who have roughed him up in the past (6 earned runs in 9 innings pitched this year). Rating = 3
Salaries: $5700 FD, $11300 DD, $6400 DK, $ FF, $14900 SS, $11300 FTD

Detroit
Miguel Cabrera – A lot of the Tigers bats make good plays, but Miggy is my favorite today. He is my pick to home run against Gibson as he is going to have to carry this Tigers squad the rest of the season if they want to make the playoffs.
Additional Plays: Victor Martinez, Torii Hunter
Minnesota
Danny Santana – This guy has been red hot recently. In his last 7 games he has 13 hits, 1 double, 3 triples and a bomb. Today he makes a great GPP play as people will be off of him due to the matchup.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Miguel Gonzalez – Gonzalez has been a very average pitcher for the Orioles. He has a respectable 3.80 ERA on the year, but a very high 1.42 WHIP. He also rarely goes deep into games and a low 6.33 K/9 which takes him out of fantasy option status. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5900 FD, $11400 DD, $6000 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Tsuyoshi Wada – Wada has now made 7 starts and actually has a very low 2.75 ERA to show for it. The problem today is the wind is blowing out in Wrigley and he faces a lineup with some big time RH power bats. This is enough to scare me away today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6500 FD, $12400 DD, $7300 DK, $ FF, $21200 SS, $12900 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Baltimore
Adam Jones – Jones makes a great OF play today as he has mashed LH pitching all year for a wOBA of .472.
Additional Plays: Nelson Cruz
Chicago Cubs
Anthony Rizzo – There are a lot of good 1st base options today so choosing may come down to what salary you can fit in. Rizzo has a great matchup today against Gonzalez with a big total in Wrigley.
Additional Plays: Javier Baez
