He has given up a 19.4% HR/FB rate this season, but that rate is unsustainable. Look for that to come back to the league average of around 10% as the season progresses. He draws a favorable matchup against the Rays, who are ranked 23rd in wOBA and 20th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. The only concern here is run support. The Rays also have their ace on the mound today.

Syndergaard is a sizable favorite and he’s pitching at home in one of the best pitcher’s parks in baseball.
