MLB Pitching Primer: Thursday, June 14th

Arms To Trust

Blake Snell at New York Yankees

With only four games in the Main Slate tonight, it is slim pickings with our pitchers. There isn’t really an Arm to Trust completely, as the top pitcher on the night is Blake Snell taking on a Yankees offense that leads the league in runs scored per game. I’ll still stick with Snell as my top arm, as he has been excellent this season with a 2.30 ERA (3.48 SIERA), 0.98 WHIP, and 9.73 K/9, but it’s tough to pick the biggest underdog on the slate as the top pitcher, and this would by no means be the safest choice on a regular-sized slate.

The Yankees do offer some strikeout potential, ranking 12th in the league in K% against left-handed pitching this season. Priced as the most expensive pitcher on the slate at $9,200 on FanDuel, $10,900 on DraftKings, and $21,600 on FantasyDraft, I’ll be owning a fair amount of Snell in tournaments, and I think he is a conceivable cash game selection, particularly on FanDuel where the price is a little more palatable.
