Clayton Kershaw vs. Miami Marlins

Pitching is pretty straightforward on the main slate considering we have Kershaw against the Marlins. I think we should start out with the Vegas numbers right off the bat to see how ridiculous they look. Kershaw is currently a -340 favorite (next closest is Taillon at -200), and the Marlins have an implied run total of 2.4 (next closest is Taillon’s opponent, the Tigers, at 3.1).

So yeah, I’d say Kershaw is in a decent spot tonight. Sure, the strikeouts are on the decline, but he is still elite at everything else. For instance, his BB% is currently sitting at a silly 2.3% right now. The groundballs are still there (48.3% GB%), and the Hard% (27.2%) is sitting right where it was last season (27.4%).

We know the Marlins project to be a terrible offense against lefties this season.
