MLB Player Props for Friday, 4/17: Best Bets & Predictions Today

What kind of performances can we expect from Zack Littell, Jose Soriano, and Ranger Suarez? Follow along as our MLB betting analyst, Nick Galaida, breaks down three of his favorite MLB prop bets for Friday, April 17, 2026. Friday’s MLB action began earlier today with the Mets against the Cubs, but there are still 14 games left to get underway as of this writing, which means plenty of betting opportunities still on the board!
We have already seen the friendliest MLB weather for hitters today, at Wrigley Field, but there are still some good conditions for hitting forecasted as part of this evening’s action. There are also some colder temperatures in Boston, Minnesota, and Colorado, of which bettors should be mindful.
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Friday, April 17th!
Best MLB Player Props for Friday, April 17th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:20 PM ET on Friday, April 17th:
- Zack Littell Over/Under 15.5 Outs Recorded
- Jose Soriano Over/Under 18.5 Outs Recorded
- Ranger Suarez Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
Zack Littell OVER 15.5 Outs Recorded (-110, FanDuel)
Littell has been pummeled early in the 2026 season, struggling to a 5.34 xERA, 7.17 FIP, and 1.40 WHIP through his first 3 appearances. That said, he’s still been incredibly efficient on a batter-to-batter basis, averaging only 3.27 pitches per batter faced.
San Francisco’s offense enters play ranked 27th in wRC+, 27th in OPS, and 30th in ISO. Washington’s arm barn is in desperate need of some length after seeing heavy usage earlier this week against the Pirates. Littell might be pushed into the 6th inning regardless of how effective he proves to be.
Jose Soriano UNDER 18.5 Outs Recorded (-165, Caesars)
Soriano looks like an early breakout candidate on the surface, but we can’t overlook the fact that he’s benefited from a likely unsustainable .143 BABIP, 100% LOB rate, and 5.9% HR/FB ratio through his first 4 starts.
Even tougher to believe is that Soriano has managed a 0.33 ERA this season despite an underwhelming 59.8% first-pitch strike percentage, a 10.5% barrel rate allowed, and a near-90% in-zone contact% allowed.
Soriano is due for some negative regression sooner rather than later, and it’s possible we see it hit as soon as tonight.
Ranger Suarez UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-118, Novig)
Suarez draws a friendly matchup against a Detroit lineup that has struggled against southpaws early this season, but that still might not be enough to get him through 6 innings. Suarez enters play with a 6.18 xERA, 4.49 FIP, and 1.47 WHIP. He’s allowing a lot of in-zone contact and not generating many swings-and-misses. Boston’s arm barn is completely rested behind him, which should allow Alex Cora to dip into his relief corps at the first sign of danger in the 6th inning if he desires.
