Happy Friday! Major League Baseball has 15 games on tap to begin the weekend, with first pitch tonight scheduled for 6:40 PM ET.
As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers. The forecast is once again showing warmer temperatures in many places on the east coast, which is a boon for offense. The west coast remains a different story, with cooler temperatures likely providing a small boost to pitchers.
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Friday, June 26th!
Best MLB Player Props for Friday, June 26th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Friday, June 26th:
- Nick Kurtz Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Jackson Chourio Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Brice Turang Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Nick Kurtz OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120, BetMGM)
Kurtz has been one of the most productive hitters in baseball this season, entering play with a 162 wRC+ and 19 home runs in 80 games. He’s been particularly good against RHP, with a 1.022 OPS and 177 wRC+.
Tonight, he will get to face Walbert Urena, who has struggled to a 4.03 FIP and 1.41 WHIP across the platoon this season. The primary concern here is Urena’s high walk rate, given that free passes actually work against this play, outside of Kurtz coming around to score. Nevertheless, this is a playable price for one of the best hitters in the league.
Jackson Chourio OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-152, DraftKings)
Chourio has looked great in recent weeks, posting a .319 batting average and 163 wRC+ since June 7th. He’s struck out in only 19.5% of his plate appearances during that span, which bodes well for his chances to put some balls in play against Colin Rea.
Rea owns an anemic 15.7% strikeout rate against righties this season and has struggled to a 5.90 FIP in same-sided matchups. Chourio should have some opportunities to make an impact at the dish.
Brice Turang OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-112, DraftKings)
Turang has a 160 wRC+ this season against RHP. He will get to face Colin Rea, who has struggled to a 4.01 FIP and 1.69 WHIP across the platoon this season. Behind Rea, the Cubs’ arm barn is in poor shape, having used Jacob Webb, Caleb Thielbar, Trent Thornton, and Hoby Milner each of the last two days. Phil Maton and Ethan Roberts also appeared in yesterday’s action. Turang should have favorable matchups throughout tonight’s ballgame, creating some value on the over.
