Monday’s 8-game MLB slate will begin at 6:10 p.m. ET with the Rays against the Guardians, with action spread throughout the evening – ending in Hollywood with the Marlins against the Dodgers to wrap up tonight’s festivities.

Though we are inching closer to May, the MLB weather report in some areas is still showing some colder temperatures in certain areas of the country. The playing conditions look to be on the pitcher-friendly side in Chicago and Minnesota tonight, with temperatures below 60 degrees.

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Monday, April 27th!

Best MLB Player Props for Monday, April 27th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:10 PM ET on Monday, April 27th:

Steven Matz OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-173, DraftKings)

Matz was chased from his last start after only 3 innings, but he had recorded at least 15 outs in each of his first 4 turns through the Tampa Bay rotation. Cleveland’s offense has performed well against southpaws early in 2026, but it’s still aggressive pricing to operate from the assumption that Matz won’t make it through 5 innings. Even for Kevin Cash, it’s never Plan A to dip into his arm barn before the 6th inning, especially in the first game of a series. Matz would have to get hit very hard to not have a chance to record 15 outs.

Randy Vasquez OVER 3.5 Strikeouts (-160, Novig)

In 2025, Vasquez averaged 93.5 mph on his 4-seam fastball. Early in 2026, he’s averaging 94.9 mph on his 4-seamer. That increase in velocity has led to a 7.9% increase in whiff rate on the offering, which has led to more strikeouts overall.

The Cubs enter play ranked 24th in contact% on swings at pitches in the zone during the last two weeks. This is a difficult travel spot for Vasquez, who is coming from Mexico City without the benefit of an off day, but this is nonetheless too low of a number for a pitcher who has posted a 12% swinging-strike rate or better in 4 of his first 5 starts this season.

Matthew Boyd OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-155, BetMGM)

When hitters come out of altitude, they often struggle in their subsequent game due to the perception challenges that come with recognizing the difference in spin in such contrasting environments. San Diego makes a lot of contact usually, but their bats could be susceptible to some more swing-and-miss tonight after playing in Mexico City over the weekend. Boyd should be good for at least 5 strikeouts in this matchup.
