Thursday’s 11-game MLB slate began earlier this afternoon, but there are still a handful of games left to get underway, which means plenty of betting opportunities still on the board!
Yesterday’s inclement MLB weather led to a couple of doubleheaders today too, which means there could be some depleted pitching staffs to target later in the day, depending on how the earlier action unfolds.
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Thursday, April 30th!
Best MLB Player Props for Thursday, April 30th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch later this afternoon scheduled for 3:05 PM ET on Thursday, April 30th:
- Nick Kurtz Over/Under 0.5 Hitter Walks
- Jacob Wilson Over/Under 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Josh Bell Over/Under 1.5 Total Bases
Nick Kurtz UNDER 0.5 Hitter Walks (+104, Caesars)
Last night, Kurtz became only the 4th player since 1900 to draw a walk in 18 consecutive games. Only Ted Williams (1941) and Roy Cullenbine (1947) have drawn a walk in 19 consecutive games.
Noah Cameron relentlessly pounds the strike zone, especially against lefties. He has a minuscule 4.2% walk rate in same-sided matchups this season after posting a 6.7% walk rate in such matchups last season. Assuming Kurtz doesn’t walk against Cameron, bettors will be sitting in a +EV spot on this wager in the latter frames.
Jacob Wilson UNDER 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-140, Hard Rock Bet)
Wilson has been better against LHP than RHP early in the 2026 season, but he still has only a 98 wRC+ against LHP. His presence in the leadoff spot will likely afford him 5 trips to the plate this afternoon in hitter-friendly weather conditions, but there is nonetheless some value on the under for a hyper-aggressive hitter who has continued to struggle at the plate.
Josh Bell UNDER 1.5 Total Bases (-175, DraftKings)
Bell enters play with a .180 batting average and only 4 extra-base hits against RHP this season. Kevin Gausman has been tough on lefties too, holding them to a .227 batting average and only 1 home run this season.
The pitcher-friendly weather forecast for Minnesota tonight only figures to make extra-base hits more difficult to come by. Bell’s patient approach could also increase the value of this wager, considering that walks don’t count as total bases.
