Major League Baseball has 6 evening games on tap for Thursday, beginning at 7:10 p.m. ET with a nationally televised broadcast between the surging Nationals and the Braves.

As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers. The forecast is once again looking friendly to hitters in Sacramento, with the temperature above 90 degrees and winds blowing out to left-center field around first pitch.

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Thursday, July 30th!

Best MLB Player Props for Thursday, July 30th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:10 PM ET on Thursday, July 30th:

Jake Irvin UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts (-108, FanDuel)

Irvin will be activated from the injured list to start on Thursday against the Braves. During his rehab stint, he never faced more than 15 batters, and he didn’t appear in a game above Double-A.

Consequently, he hasn’t faced a Major League lineup since May 23. Atlanta has some guys who are prone to swinging and missing, but the leash is likely to be short for Irvin. If he faces 18 batters or fewer, there is value on under 3.5 strikeouts.

Grant Holmes UNDER 15.5 Outs Recorded (-175, BetMGM)

Holmes has struggled to a 5.05 FIP and 1.37 WHIP across the platoon in 2026. Tonight, he will have to contend with a Washington lineup featuring 8 LHB. Atlanta heavily used their arm barn yesterday, including southpaw Dylan Dodd for 35 offerings, but Dylan Lee and Danny Young should be available this evening. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Braves opt for a fresh arm for the 6th inning considering Holmes’ struggles.

Grant McCray OVER 0.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-130, BetMGM)

McCray is only 2-for-17 at the plate since being promoted to the big leagues on July 10, but the underlying metrics offer promise of better outcomes in the near future (10.0% barrel rate, 86.7% in-zone contact).

McCray was selected in the 3rd round of the 2019 draft and has a penchant for getting on base. At this number, he’s capable of cashing a ticket for bettors simply by drawing a walk and having one of his teammates drive him home. A simple single or sacrifice fly would suffice too.
