There are 15 MLB games on tap for Tuesday’s slate, beginning at 6:10 p.m. ET with the Rays against the Guardians.

Looking at the MLB weather report ahead of first pitch, there are some cooler temperatures forecast for tonight’s action, which could help pitchers in those particular contests.

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Tuesday, April 28th!

Best MLB Player Props for Tuesday, April 28th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:10 PM ET on Tuesday, April 28th:

Braxton Ashcraft OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-115, Novig)

Ashcraft has made 5 starts this season, and he’s faced 25 batters in 3 of those outings. In his most recent turn through the rotation, he threw 94 pitches, indicating that he’s likely good for 100 offerings if needed tonight given the state of the Pittsburgh arm barn.

Ashcraft has been efficient this season, averaging 3.75 pitches per batter faced. He gets a favorable matchup against a St. Louis lineup that has seen the 7th-fewest pitches per plate appearance during the last 14 days.

Pittsburgh needs length from their starter this evening. Even if Ashcraft struggles a little bit, they are likely to do everything they can (within reason) to get him through at least 6 innings.

Shohei Ohtani OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-158, Novig)

Ohtani has made 4 starts in 2026 as a pitcher, and he’s faced at least 23 batters in all of them. Manager Dave Roberts has been vocal about not wanting to unnecessarily burden his arm barn this season, which has led to a longer-than-expected leash in certain spots for his starters this April.

Ohtani will never be the most efficient starter due to his swing-and-miss stuff, but he makes up for that most nights with an ability to limit traffic on the basepaths. The Marlins aren’t the most patient lineup, nor are they the most potent offense, so Ohtani should have every opportunity to get through 6 innings.

Leody Taveras OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+115, BetMGM)

Taveras is off to a great start in 2026, with a 141 wRC+ through 23 games. Taveras has cut his chase rate considerably and increased his bat speed by over a full mph year over year, which has propelled that strong start to the campaign.

Houston will be opening tonight’s game with Kai-Wei Teng, who has struggled across the platoon this season. In the latter frames, Taveras could see some favorable matchups too. This is good value at plus money.
