Happy Wednesday! Major League Baseball has 9 games on tap for this evening following a busy afternoon of action around the league.

As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers. The forecast for Wrigley Field once again looks to be particularly favorable for pitchers.

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Wednesday, July 22nd!

Best MLB Player Props for Wednesday, July 22nd

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Wednesday, July 22nd:

Kyle Manzardo OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+125, DraftKings)

Bailey Ober has struggled to a 5.75 FIP across the platoon this season. His changeup-first arsenal simply doesn’t support many strikeouts against LHB, given that his best swing-and-miss offering is often shown early in counts. The net result of that is hitters often getting good looks at fastballs later in at-bats.

Manzardo is in the midst of a dreadful slump right now, but the underlying metrics show that he’s still hitting a lot of balls hard and exhibiting a good approach. This is good value for him at home in a favorable matchup.

Daniel Schneemann OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+135, DraftKings)

Schneemann, like most of Cleveland’s lineup, hasn’t done much of late. In July, Schneemann has a .161 batting average and 24 wRC+. That said, he still has a 9.5% barrel rate in that span, which means he’s still more than capable of doing some damage in the right matchup.

Bailey Ober doesn’t miss many bats across the platoon. Schneemann should have opportunities to make an impact with his bat.

Sandy Alcantara OVER 5.5 Hits Allowed (-115, Caesars)

Alcantara has a reputation for being an ace, but the numbers on the back of his baseball card don’t paint such an unblemished picture. Entering play, he has allowed 5+ hits in 15 of his last 16 starts.

Houston’s bats have come alive in July, ranking 8th in wRC+ against RHP this month. If Alcantara gets deep into this game, it’s possible he allows 6 hits as part of an overall strong performance. It’s also possible that Houston finds success against him, which would also cash this wager.
