Gerrit Cole UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-110, bet365)
BET365The Yankees officially clinched a Wild Card spot on Tuesday, which means their entire focus for the rest of the week turns to having their pitchers feeling good heading into the opening round of the playoffs.
There is a high possibility we see a de-load outing from Cole on Wednesday, especially considering that he didn’t pitch at all in 2025.
Manager Aaron Boone’s bullpen usage has been unpredictable all year, but it would make sense for him to be extremely conservative with Cole’s pitch count in this matchup.
Kevin Gausman OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-182, DraftKings)
DRAFTKINGSGausman has only finished the 6th inning once in his last 4 starts, but he should be given a long leash tonight after Chicago played 11 innings on Tuesday against the Marlins. The last thing the Cubs want to do in the final week of the regular season is overtax their arm barn right before the playoffs begin.
The forecast is an extremely pitcher-friendly one at Wrigley Field tonight too, which should help Gausman avoid his biggest issue, allowing balls to go over the fence.
Robbie Ray OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-136, DraftKings)
DRAFTKINGSSan Diego is more than likely going to earn one of the NL Wild Card spots during the final week of the regular season, but they still have a lot of incentive to win this week, with the top Wild Card spot still up for grabs.
Ray has faced 22 batters or more in 5 of his last 6 turns through the Padres rotation. He should have every opportunity to get through 5 frames.
