MLB Player Props Today
Taj Bradley Over/Under 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed
Ky Bush Over/Under 3.5 Strikeouts
Blake Snell Over/Under 7.5 Strikeouts
Taj Bradley OVER 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (+110), BetMGM
Entering play on Monday, Taj Bradley has allowed 4+ earned runs in back-to-back starts. In his previous 9 turns through the rotation, Bradley had allowed 1 earned run or fewer eight times, but that run was largely supported by a .224 BABIP and 91.5% strand rate – both of which are unsustainable. Houston has been a borderline top-10 offense since the All-Star Break against right-handed pitchers and have scored 5+ runs in each of their last four contests. They should be able to get to Bradley early and often as they look to stay hot.
Ky Bush UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts (+100), DraftKings
Ky Bush has made only one MLB start this year, but what we have seen from him so far hasn’t been particularly impressive. He walked five batters last week against the Athletics, throwing only 50% first-pitch strikes and allowing a 94.7% contact rate on swings at pitches in the strike zone. Dating back to his minor league outings, he has only 1 game with more than 4 strikeouts since June 9. The added level of competition at Triple-A and the big leagues seemingly presented a difficult problem for him to solve. As long as we get a neutral umpire in the Bronx, this play should have a great chance to cash.
Blake Snell OVER 7.5 Strikeouts (-127), FanDuel
During the last month of action, Blake Snell owns an absurd 39% strikeout rate, supported by a league-leading 20% swinging strike rate in that span. Snell has been relentlessly pounding the strike zone of late, with the 4th-highest first-pitch strike rate of any pitcher to throw at least 20 innings since the All-Star Break. Out of those 108 qualified pitchers, nobody has allowed less contact on pitches in the zone – a strong indicator that Snell has simply been overpowering opposing lineups.
Atlanta isn’t a massive liability when it comes to strikeouts, but they have been striking out more than the league-average pitcher against southpaws in recent weeks, and they have the added difficulty of coming out of Coors Field without the benefit of an off day in this spot. Snell has 8+ strikeouts in each of his last three trips to the mound. He has a great chance to continue that streak this evening.
