Happy Monday! There are only 5 games on tap for tonight’s MLB slate, but there are still plenty of good betting opportunities – especially with a number of contact-oriented pitchers on the bump. The evening slate will get started in the Motor City at 6:40 p.m. ET, with a pair of West Coast games to round out the action a few hours later.

Since the beginning of last year, we are 129-67 (66.0%) +28.61u on pitcher prop recommendations in this article during the regular season. A bettor who has tailed every player prop, including batter props, in this article during that time period is +42.52u overall.

Below, we have 3 plays worth considering for Monday’s action!

MLB Player Props Today

Jon Gray Over/Under 4.5 Strikeouts
Wyatt Langford Over/Under 1.5 Total Bases
Adolis Garcia Over/Under 1.5 Total Bases

Jon Gray OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (+116), FanDuel

It’s always a little bit stressful betting strikeout props before we get umpire assignments on travel days, but this is a play with good early afternoon value. Jon Gray has been absolutely atrocious since returning from the injured list, posting an 8.10 ERA, 5.87 FIP, 1.67 WHIP, and 13.9 K% across his last 6 appearances.

During that stretch, Gray ranks 97th out of 122 pitchers (min. 20 IP) in Stuff+, 101st in swinging strike%, and 70th in called strike%. The Angels have quietly been improving their contact ability of late, ranking 5th in contact% on pitches in the zone and 17th in contact% on pitches out of the zone across the last 14 days. Gray is likely to have a difficult time racking up strikeouts in this spot unless he gets an extremely pitcher-friendly home plate umpire.

Wyatt Langford OVER 1.5 Total Bases (+125), DraftKings

Since May 28, Wyatt Langford owns a .313 batting average, .868 OPS, and 140 wRC+. He gets a very favorable matchup against Davis Daniel, who has looked thoroughly overmatched early in his MLB career. Langford has been more productive against southpaws than against RHP this year, but he has a high-contact approach against RHP, which should help him this evening against a contact-oriented starter for the Angels. This is good value for a player who is seeing the ball well right now.

Adolis Garcia OVER 1.5 Total Bases (+125), DraftKings

This season has obviously not gone according to plan for Adolis Garcia, but he gets a dream matchup this evening against a very hittable starting pitcher. Davis Daniel enters play with a pedestrian 18.5 strikeout% and a ghastly 6.17 FIP against right-handed hitters in a small sample size at the MLB level. His Stuff+ comes in at a dreadful 75 during his last 13.1 innings of work. Garcia is still more than capable of running into a baseball.

It’s possible we’ll see him do some damage in this spot. This is good value in a great matchup.
