Happy Friday! Following yesterday’s extremely small 5-game slate, every single MLB team is back in action tonight to begin the weekend. The first pitch of the day is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. EST in Miami, with eight of today’s contests not starting until at least 8:10 p.m. EST.
Since the beginning of last week, we are 18-9 in this article! Since May 1, we are 115-91-7 on non-Home Run props and 2-4 on Home Run recommendations. We are now 77-43-4 on pitcher prop recommendations for the season. There is plenty of opportunity once again on the player prop market today – below are three prop leans for July 28!

Mookie Betts u0.5 Strikeouts (+115), DraftKings
Mookie Betts is not always thought of as a contact-oriented hitter due to his impressive power. However, he ranks in the 100th percentile in chase rate, 87th percentile in whiff%, and 85th percentile in strikeout percentage entering the weekend. Facing left-handed pitching in 2023, Betts has struck out in only 14.4% of his plate appearances. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against Brandon Williamson, who has very little swing-and-miss stuff in his arsenal. At plus-money, this is a worthwhile risk.
Kike Hernandez u0.5 Strikeouts (-125), DraftKings
Kike Hernandez has played only one game since rejoining the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he looked very comfortable in his former home. In his 2023 Dodgers’ debut, Hernandez went 2-for-4 at the dish on two hard-hit balls. Hernandez has struck out in only 11.2% of his plate appearances against southpaws this year, making him a trustworthy option for us in this spot against Brandon Williamson. Expect Hernandez to get the job done for us.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Will Smith less than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks
Similar to his two teammates mentioned above, Will Smith has an extremely favorable matchup tonight against the ill-equipped Brandon Williamson. Adding to the analysis here, Smith has struck out in only 8.8% of his plate appearances against left-handed pitching this season, meaning that he is going to be a very difficult person to get out on strikes on Friday night.
