Happy Saturday! College Football is back, but that doesn’t mean that we are done shooting our shot on the baseball diamond. The action got started earlier this afternoon between the Cleveland Guardians and Toronto Blue Jays, but there are still 14 games yet to get underway as of this writing, leaving plenty of options for bettors to consider.

MLB Player Props Today

Bryce Harper o1.5 Total Bases (-115), FanDuel

Bryce Harper has been on a tear lately, with a .467 batting average, 1.646 OPS, and 321 wRC+ since August 16. Tonight, he will get to face Dakota Hudson, who has struggled to a 4.23 FIP against left-handed batters in 2023. Harper has been at his best this year against right-handed pitching – posting an .882 OPS and a 139 wRC+. This is a great spot for Harper.

Pedro Avila u4.5 Strikeouts (-137), BetRivers

Pedro Avila has dazzled in a limited role for the San Diego Padres since being promoted. Nonetheless, this market number is simply too high against a Milwaukee Brewers offense that has the 6th-lowest strikeout rate of any team in baseball against right-handed pitching during the month of August. According to props.cash, only one right-handed starting pitcher has eclipsed this market number against the Brewers since August 15 – don’t expect that to change on Saturday.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Bryson Stott Less Than 0.5 Hitter Strikeouts, PrizePicks

Bryson Stott is our weekend warrior. He was profitable for us in this market last weekend, so we are likely going to run things back with him each day to end this week. Since August 8, Bryson Stott has struck out in only 7.8% of his total plate appearances. On the season, he ranks in the 89th percentile in strikeout rate and the 94th percentile in whiff percentage. Today, he will face Dakota Hudson, who ranks in only the 11th percentile in strikeout rate and the 22nd percentile in whiff percentage in 2023. Trust Stott to deliver for us once again!
