Happy Thursday! Today’s 11-game MLB slate began earlier this afternoon with some day baseball, but there are still 9 games left to get underway as of this writing, meaning plenty of betting opportunities are still left on the board!
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.
Below, you can find my 3 picks for Thursday, July 10th!

Best MLB Player Props for Thursday, July 10
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 5:05 PM ET on Thursday, July 10th:
- Matt Olson Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Marcell Ozuna Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Elly De La Cruz Over/Under 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Matt Olson OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-142, Caesars)
Olson will have to deal with a left-on-left matchup, facing JP Sears of the Athletics. However, that’s not as tough of a matchup as one might imagine on the surface. This season, Olson has seen southpaws well, hitting .290 with a 127 wRC+. It’s also worth pointing out that Sears hasn’t thrown more than 92 pitches in an outing since May, so Olson could get an at-bat or two against RHP in the latter frames of this contest. This is good value for a talented hitter.
Marcell Ozuna OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-140, bet365)

Ozuna isn’t having his best season to date, but he’s reliably hit LHP in recent seasons and gets a favorable matchup against JP Sears. This year, Sears has struggled to a 5.25 FIP across the platoon, striking out only 17.4% of such hitters he’s faced. Those numbers are even more troublesome ahead of first pitch this evening, given the fact that the temperature is forecasted to be around 100 degrees, with 15 mph winds blowing out towards center field around first pitch. Ozuna should have a great chance to do damage in this spot.
Elly De La Cruz OVER 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+125, DraftKings)
Consistent with previous seasons, De La Cruz has been significantly better against RHP than against LHP. Today, he gets a great matchup against right-hander Cal Quantrill, who has struggled to a 4.45 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across his last 7 outings. De La Cruz could be in for a big day at the dish on Thursday.
