Happy Tuesday! Today’s 15-game MLB slate begins at 6:40 p.m. ET, with games spread throughout the evening before ending in Hollywood with a battle between the Phillies and Dodgers.
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.

Best MLB Player Props for Tuesday, September 16
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Tuesday, September 16th:
- Kyle Freeland Over/Under 15.5 Outs Recorded
- Michael King Over/Under 14.5 Outs Recorded
- Cristopher Sanchez Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
Kyle Freeland OVER 15.5 Outs Recorded (-114, DraftKings)

Freeland has been throwing the ball reasonably well of late, allowing 3 earned runs or fewer in each of his last 4 turns through the rotation. Since August 28, Freeland owns a very respectable 2.75 ERA, 3.15 FIP, and 1.12 WHIP. Tonight, he will get to face a Miami offense that ranks 21st in wRC+ against southpaws during the last 30 days. He should have an opportunity to get into the 6th inning assuming he is at least moderately effective.
Michael King UNDER 14.5 Outs Recorded (+125, BetMGM)

King completed 5 innings in his most recent outing against the Reds, but he threw only 63 pitches and faced only 19 batters. He was uncharacteristically efficient on the mound in that matchup and was fortunate that both of the home runs he allowed came with nobody on base. He could have a tougher time working efficiently against the Mets, an offense that is replete with talent and willing to work deep counts. This is good value on the under.
Cristopher Sanchez OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-144, FanDuel)

The Dodgers have been swinging the bats well against LHP of late, but this is simply too good of a price to pass up for one of the best pitchers in baseball. Since the beginning of June, Sanchez has completed at least 6 innings in 17 of his 18 turns through the Philadelphia rotation. Los Angeles is capable of working deep counts and getting into the opponent’s bullpen, but that is tougher to do against someone like Sanchez, who throws a lot of first-pitch strikes and isn’t afraid to compete in the zone.
