MLB Player Props for Tuesday, 9/9: Best Bets & Predictions Today
What kind of performances can we expect on Tuesday from CJ Abrams, James Wood, and Josh Bell? Follow along as our MLB betting analyst, Nick Galaida, breaks down three of his favorite MLB prop bets for Tuesday, September 9th. Who is ready for some Tuesday evening baseball? Tonight’s 15-game MLB slate might not have the same peak cinematic entertainment value as Josh Allen overcoming a huge 4th-quarter deficit on Sunday Night Football or Caleb Williams collapsing under the bright lights on Monday Night Football, but there are still reasons to be excited about what is on tap – especially from a betting and DFS perspective.
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat, or unlucky, if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.
Below, you can find my 3 picks for Tuesday, September 9th!

Best MLB Player Props for Tuesday, September 9
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM ET on Tuesday, September 9th:
- CJ Abrams Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- James Wood Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Josh Bell Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
CJ Abrams OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-135, DraftKings)

Adam Mazur simply hasn’t shown any evidence that he has any answers for left-handed hitters at the MLB level. This season, he owns a dreadful 6.98 FIP and 1.92 WHIP across the platoon, allowing a .306 batting average while walking nearly 12% of the batters he’s faced.
Abrams has been seeing the ball well of late, with a .300 batting average and 130 wRC+ across his last 5 games. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him have another strong showing this evening in a favorable matchup.
James Wood OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-115, bet365)

Wood has mashed RHP in 2025, with a 131 wRC+ and .837 OPS in 341 plate appearances. Following a slump coming out of the All-Star Break, Wood has been productive of late, with a .273 batting average and 125 wRC+ in his last 28 games.
Tonight, Wood will get to face Adam Mazur, who has allowed multiple earned runs in each of his 3 MLB starts this season. Wood, sandwiched between a pair of capable left-handed hitters in Tuesday’s lineup, should have a good chance to accrue some counting stats.
Josh Bell OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-135, bet365)

Bell has quietly been one of the tougher outs in baseball in recent weeks. In his last 12 games, he’s hitting .282 with a 145 wRC+, including 3 home runs in the last couple of nights. Nearly all of Bell’s production in 2025 has come against RHP, which is good news for him against Adam Mazur.
Mazur doesn’t possess great swing-and-miss stuff, and Bell rarely strikes out. This should lead to a few balls in play. If CJ Abrams or James Wood gets on base ahead of Bell, this play could cash with a simple timely base hit.
