Wednesday’s MLB slate began earlier this afternoon with an array of afternoon action, but there are still several games left to get underway as of this writing, meaning plenty of betting opportunities available for those who were stuck at the office today!

As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.

Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat or unlucky if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.

Below, you can find my 3 picks for Wednesday, May 21st!

Best MLB Player Props for Wednesday, May 21st

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:45 PM ET on Wednesday, May 21st:

JP Sears UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-125, FanDuel)

Sears draws a favorable matchup against the Angels, an offense that has been struggling against southpaws in recent weeks. That being said, Sears, a fly-ball pitcher, will have to navigate that Angels lineup in one of the most hitter-friendly venues in the MLB, pitching at Sutter Health Park. The forecast at first pitch has temperatures in the mid-80s with winds blowing out to center field. Adding to the level of difficulty for Sears is that he’s not been efficient in his recent outings, averaging over 4 pitches per batter faced during the last 30 days. The Athletics arm barn is in decent shape ahead of tonight’s action, which only increases the likelihood that Sears is pulled before recording 18 outs.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-135, bet365)

Guerrero has quietly been producing at an extremely high level during the month of May, posting a 173 wRC+ with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs across 17 games. In that span, he has hit safely in all but 2 games. Tonight, he gets to face Randy Vasquez, who has allowed a high rate of contact and quite a bit of quality contact in 2025. Guerrero should once again have a good chance to cover this prop line.

Yoan Moncada OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-115, BetMGM)

Moncada stayed hot yesterday, recording a pair of hits, including a home run and 3 RBIs. In 13 games since returning from the injured list, he now has 4 home runs and 12 RBIs, with an impressive 155 wRC+ overall. This evening, Moncada will get to face JP Sears, who is a contact-oriented southpaw for the Athletics. Moncada should have a great chance to drive in a run or two and perhaps lift another ball over the fence, with warm temperatures and hitter-friendly wind forecast at Sutter Health Park.
