MMA DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for UFC Fight Night – Whittaker vs. Aliskerov
Who is your favorite fighter to spend up for in cash games?
eys819: Magomedov
Moneyball16: Magomedov
h3budda: Magomedov
squirrelpatrol: Magomedov
Bward586: Magomedov
Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
eys819: Magomedov – He is underpriced given his status as the largest favorite on the card. If the opponent swap happened before pricing was released, he would be the most expensive fighter on the slate. The only prop for the new fight that has been released is an over/under of 1.5 rounds, and it is heavily juiced to the under. Magomedov is going to come in as a heavy favorite to win inside the distance given his win odds and the fight-time prop.
Moneyball16: Fakhretdinov – With other high-priced fighters with great ITD odds, I think he likely goes under-owned, but he has strong takedown upside and strong odds to win, which still gives him tremendous upside. 2 of his 4 fights have come with 5+ takedowns, and his opponent, Dalby, has shown a weakness at defending takedowns.
h3budda: Aliskerov – This is my favorite play because of the 5-round potential with a higher chance (+150 ITD) than the favorite (Whittaker at +175 ID) to finish the fight. It’s all about lineup building and how to get salary relief. So when you take Aliskerov, you are going to give yourself an easier way to build lineups.
squirrelpatrol: Fakhretdinov – Fakhretdinov could see lower pOWN% than he should, with Pavlovich and Gadzhiyasulov carrying very strong ITD lines and Magomedov mispriced for his new opponent. Fakhretdinov could score extremely well in a win, however, with 2 of his 3 UFC wins scoring 129 DK points or more. Fakhretdinov is -125 to get over 3.5 takedowns and could go over 100 DK points in a decision win.
Bward586: Whittaker – He’s projecting for about 10% less ownership than Aliskerov, despite being the favorite. The change of opponent, venue, and number of rounds is a big adjustment for Aliskerov, while Whittaker was already preparing for a 5-round fight on this date. I expect a late finish from “Bobby Knuckles,” with plenty of volume beforehand.
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
