MMA Event Breakdown - UFC Fight Night: Vera vs. Sandhagen

UFC San Antonio: Vera vs. Sandhagen

San Antonio plays host to the final fight night in a long stretch of consecutive UFC weekends, leading into a healthy one week break before UFC287 in early April. Fight fans will be treated to an elite bantamweight clash between divisional stalwarts Cory “Sandman” Sandhagen and Marlon “Chito” Vera.

Victor Altamirano vs. Vinicius Salvador

Fight Odds: +100 Altamirano vs. -120 Salvador
Weight Class: 125lb. (Flyweight)

Victor Altamirano was briefly stunned by the pressuring attack of Daniel da Silva in his last bout, but he rallied in the same round to put da Silva down and claim his first win by stoppage in the UFC, made all the more sweet by way of stoppage. Vinicinus Salvador is making his UFC debut after dispatching Shannon Ross on the Dana White Contender Series (DWCS) via knockout. Salvador is a blood and guts fighter who fights with his hands down, his chin up, looking to be violent and aggressive while putting himself in danger. Altamirano is a bit more basic and fundamentally sound, and I think his pressure and cardio will be enough to carry the day.

Prediction: Victor Altamirano defeats Vinicius Salvador via KO2/3

CJ Vergara vs. Daniel da Silva
