Monday, February 8th - FanDuel Single Game Analysis: OKC @ LAL
Is your main slate lineup looking rough? Or did you not get off work in time to make one? Or just looking for a little more action? Don’t worry, FanDuel has you covered with their Single Game format. Monday night’s marquee game is OKC @ LAL starting at 10 PM ET. You can make a lineup with players from just this game. Below are some options for players to use in the MVP slot and other cheap options that will allow you to fit in the big dogs.
Top MVP Options
LeBron James ($16,000) – With the news that Anthony Davis is unlikely to play in this game, LeBron James instantly becomes the top MVP option by a wide margin. King James has posted a massive 34.2% usage rate in 333 minutes with Davis off the court this season and is averaging a very healthy 1.4 FanDuel points per minute. Don’t overthink this one – throw LeBron into your MVP slot and move on to figuring out the rest of your lineups.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($14,000) – Not only is there a wide gap between LeBron and the second-best option in this game (SGA), there is almost an equally wide gap between SGA and the next tier of guys (Al Horford, Hamidou Diallo). In other words, just like LeBron is the slam dunk MVP option, SGA is the easy STAR option. For a reference point, our projections at RotoGrinders have LeBron projected for 50.57 FD points, SGA projected for 40.88 FD points, and Horford projected for 32.63 FD points. That’s not to say that someone with a lower projection won’t end up outscoring LeBron or SGA but rather that it makes more sense to try to get unique in the PRO slot because there is a wider group of players that project similarly. If running multiple lineups for this game, it makes a lot of sense to lock in LeBron at MVP and SGA at STAR while alternating the remaining top players at PRO and UTIL.
Top Value Options
Kyle Kuzma ($9,500) – Kyle Kuzma is the leading candidate to slide into the starting lineup if Anthony Davis is unable to suit up, which would make him the highest projected player priced below $10,000. Kuzma has put up solid per 36 numbers with Davis off the court this season, averaging 16.29 points and 9.09 rebounds.
Kenrich Williams ($8,000) – Utility man Kenrich Williams will likely be forced into heavy-duty again on Monday night with the Thunder likely only having eight players available for this game. The 6’7” 26 year old has spent the majority of his time playing SF this season but has also been called upon at times to handle the ball as the backup PG. Williams is also active defensively, which gives him a little bit of block + steal upside at a low price point.
