This weekend, we head to World Wide Technology Raceway for the Enjoy Illinois 300. The race on Sunday September 7th at 3:00pm ET on USA. This will be the fourth time at Gateway for the Cup Series. This is the first time the Cup Series has run here in September, and Goodyear brought a different tire than last season. Erik Jones, Brad Keselowski, and Kyle Larson did the tire test here in June. The teams ran this tire at Iowa this season. Gateway is a unique 1.25-mile egg-shaped track that is considered more of a flat-track. There is no perfect comp for Gateway- it’s a unique track. I’ll look at Gateway data, Iowa/Nashville/Richmond/Phoenix data, 2025 speed data, practice, and a few other things when building lineups this weekend.
