This weekend we head to Hampton, Georgia for the FR8 208. We have a doubleheader on Saturday, with the Trucks at 1:30 p.m. ET and the XFINITY Series at 5 p.m. ET. The Truck Series race is on FS1. There is no practice this week, and qualifying is Friday. Just in case you didn’t know, Atlanta Motor Speedway was changed after the final 2021 race. It went from a track with a lot of tire wear and medium banking to a new surface with a lot of banking. It’s an intermediate track that races like Daytona and Talladega. The biggest difference is that those tracks are 2.5 miles with a lot more room, while Atlanta is a 1.5-mile with two to three lanes to run. The wrecks happen fast, but don’t seem to take out as many cars as a Daytona and Talladega race. We will see a lot more single-file racing at Atlanta, and the top lane is the dominant lane.

NASCAR Truck Series DFS Picks: FR8 208

The stages are 30, 30, and 75, which is a total of 135 laps. We will only see green flag stops in the final stage if there aren’t any cautions within the window. With 135 laps, we’re looking at 60.75 fastest lap points and 33.75 laps led points.

In 2022, there were seven cautions for 40 laps. Only 19 of the 36 trucks finished on the lead lap, but only six trucks DNF.
