This weekend, we head to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Focused Health 250. The race is Friday night at 7:30 PM ET on The CW. There is no practice this week, but qualifying for Cup and Xfinity is Friday. In case you didn’t know, Atlanta Motor Speedway was changed after the final 2021 race. It went from a track with a lot of tire wear and medium banking to a new surface with a lot of banking. It’s an intermediate track that races like Daytona and Talladega. The biggest difference: those tracks are 2.5 miles with a lot more room, where Atlanta is a 1.5-mile with two to three lanes to run. The wrecks happen fast but don’t seem to take out as many cars as a Daytona and Talladega race. We will see a lot more single-file racing at Atlanta, and the middle lane is the dominant lane. The Xfinity runs have not been as strong as the Cup runs in the draft here.
NASCAR Xfinity Series DFS Picks: Focused Health 250
The stages are 45, 45, and 73, which is a total of 163 laps. With 163 laps, we’re looking at 73.35 fastest-lap points and 40.75 laps-led points. There have been anywhere from 4 to 12 cautions in the 7 races with the redesign. Earlier this season, there were 8 cautions for 49 laps. The race winner has started inside the top 5 in all 7 races here with the “new” Atlanta design.
