This weekend we head to Sonoma Raceway for the Pit Boss/FoodMaxx 250. The race is Saturday July 12th at 4:30pm ET on The CW. Sonoma Raceway is the third road course race of the 2025 season for the Xfinity Series. Sonoma is a 12-turn 1.99-mile road course. The 2023 was the first time the Xfinity Series raced at Sonoma. Last year, Sonoma repaved the track, and we saw a race dominated by SVG. Sonoma was known for the tire fall off and elevation, and now that tire fall off is gone. Teams had 50-minutes of practice on Friday. JRM was the class of the field and have had the most speed on road courses this season. I’ll be looking at 2025 speed, practice, 2024-current road course data, and a few other things when building lineups this weekend.

The stages are 20, 25, and 34, which is a total of 79 laps. With 79 laps, we’re looking at 35.55 fastest lap points and 19.75 laps led points. Last season, there were four cautions for 14 laps. In 2023, there were two cautions for eight laps, which were the two stage break cautions. This weekend, we will add the strategy factor of short pitting before the end of the stages.
