This weekend, we head to Martinsville for the US Marine Corps 250. The race is at 5:00pm ET on The CW. Track history is important at Martinsville, and it’s going to be the thing I weigh the most. We can look at recent short flat track data and 2024/2025 speed as well. With practice, I’m looking for cars better on the long runs with little to no fall off. The 2020 season was the first time since 2006 and 1994 that the XFINITY Series ran at Martinsville. I’ll be weighing the 6 recent races and looking through the data in those races. In those races, we’ve had at least 10 cautions for 68 laps in each race. Despite all the cautions, the race winner has started inside the top 10 in 5 of the last 6 races here. Martinsville is unique, so there is a bump to drivers with some type of race history here. Track position is important.
NASCAR Xfinity Series DFS Picks: US Marine Corps 250
The stages are 60, 60, and 130, which is a total of 250 laps. With 250 laps, we’re looking at a potential of 112.5 fastest lap points and 62.5 laps led points. Even with the caution laps, we are looking at 140+ dominator points. We likely will see most drivers pit at the end of stage 2 and that be their only pit stop of the race. We’ve had some wild endings here, which has completely changed how these races have finished. I think there are two ways to approach this race from a dominator perspective.
