NBA Best Bets for Today: It Ain't Over Til It's Under (Friday, Nov. 3)

NBA Best Bets for today’s action! It Ain’t Over Til It’s Under will highlight one game total and one player prop under for the slate. We won’t cash until the final horn sounds, but we’ll be cashing often.
New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks First Quarter Under 57.5 (-115 on Fanatics)

Both of these teams have been slow starters this season. New York is dead last in first quarter scoring, while Milwaukee is 25th. The Knicks typically play slow (22nd in pace), but they’re even slower to start the game (29th in 1st quarter pace).
The Bucks have struggled mightily on defense, ranking 28th in points per game and 29th in defensive rating. However, they’ve done a decent job on defense in the first quarter, ranking 12th in defensive rating. It’s their best period by a mile as far as getting stops.
This has the makings of an extremely boring start and an exciting finish. It’ll definitely be one of those ESPN games that drags into the next matchup, so be prepared to miss the first couple minutes of Jokic vs. Luka.
Jerami Grant Under 2.5 Assists (-115 on DraftKings)

Grant has never been much of a distributor, but his facilitating has fallen off a cliff through five games. He has a 4.81% assist rate and is averaging just three potential assists per contest. Grant had a 10.3% assist rate last season.
No Scoot Henderson tonight, which means Malcolm Brogdon likely steps into the starting lineup. It’s just a 74-minute sample, but Grant’s usage rate drops nearly 5% with Brogdon on the floor. His assist rate falls to 2.04%.
Portland is 29th in offensive rating and 30th in scoring. It’s a bad offense and Grant is seeing minimal assist opportunities. Have a hard time seeing him get to three dimes.
