NBA Best Bets Today – Wednesday, November 22
- Golden State Warriors at Phoenix Suns (-2)
- Utah Jazz at Portland Trail Blazers (+2.5)
- Dallas Mavericks (-2.5) at Los Angeles Lakers
Golden State Warriors at Phoenix Suns (-2)
On Wednesday, Draymond Green will once again be out of the lineup as he continues to serve his suspension for his role in the altercation against the Timberwolves earlier this month. Stephen Curry and the Warriors have won only one game with Green out of the lineup during this stretch – defeating the Rockets 121-116 at the Chase Center. Traveling for a road game this evening against Kevin Durant and the Suns, the Warriors and their thin rotations are likely to be outmatched in a hostile environment. The home favorites have value in this spot.
Utah Jazz at Portland Trail Blazers (+2.5)
The Trail Blazers are obviously not a contending team this season, but they have proven themselves surprisingly adequate on the defensive end of the floor this month – ranking 19th in defensive efficiency. Portland has been particularly effective defending the perimeter, ranking 4th in opponent three-point attempts per game and 15th in opponent three-point percentage in their last 10 games. Utah shoots three-point shots at a rate higher than nearly every other team in the NBA. Playing on the road on the second night of a back-to-back set is far from an ideal spot for the Jazz on Wednesday. The Trail Blazers are a live dog in this matchup.
Dallas Mavericks (-2.5) at Los Angeles Lakers
Luka Doncic and the Mavericks have one major vulnerability with their current roster construction – they are woefully incapable of rebounding the basketball. In 11 games during November, only the Thunder, Bulls, and Wizards have a worse rebounding rate than the Mavericks. Fortunately for the Mavericks, LeBron James and the Lakers are not particularly well equipped to exploit this weakness. Los Angeles enters play ranked 20th in rebound percentage and opponent rebounds per game this month. Dallas is more than capable of taking care of business in this spot against an aging Los Angeles team that is on the second night of a back-to-back set.
