NBA Odds & Betting Picks for Today: Atlanta Hawks at Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings are 3.5-point home underdogs and the point total is 231 at online sports betting sites. Here’s a look at NBA odds and betting picks for today, Wednesday, March 24, 2021.
NBA Betting Picks for Today: Hawks at Kings
Lately, Hawks have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA, winning eight of their last 10 games. They currently sit in fourth-place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 22-21. They have been about what you’d expect against the spread this season, covering the number at a 22-20-1 clip. They currently rank 22nd in pace, 10th in offensive efficiency, and 19th in defensive efficiency, but are 29th, 11th, and 7th respectively over their last 10 games. The Kings, on the other hand, have been a bit of a dumpster fire for most of the season. They currently sit 13th in the Western Conference with a record of 18-25 and are 5-5 over the last 10 games. They’re currently 9th in pace, 11th in offensive efficiency, and 30th in defensive efficiency, but are 15th, 7th, and 28th respectively over the last 10 games.
What jumped out to me in this matchup when I was perusing odds at sportsbooks this morning was the game spread, which is a bit off form what I expected and likely where I will choose to attack it from a gambling perspective on tonight’s NBA slate. The Kings have not been great at covering the spread at home this seaso, going 7-14 ATS at home and 3-9 ATS as a home dog. The Hawks are playing some really good basketball as of late and are only a 3.5-point underdog despite entering fairly healthy. I expect this game to be a high-scoring affair as the Kings have hit the over at one of the highest rates in the league when playing in their own arena. In total the over is 15-6 this year in Sacramento, as the Kings seem to run at a faster pace when playing at the Golden 1 Center.
Players Props
Using RotoGrinders’ NBA projections, we have highlighted a few player props that clearly have some betting value. The first one that stands off the page is Capela’s rebound prop. Currently, RG projects Capela to snag 12.54 rebounds, but you can find the prop line 14.5 at BetMGM with a -125 juice on the under. While Capela has been an absolute beast on the boards all season long and the Kings have been a below average rebounding team, it’s worth noting that Capela’s minutes have been down recently. He’s only averaged 25 minutes over his last six outings. Additionally, Holmes’ rebounding prop seems to be too low. It currently sits at 9.5, but Holmes has had a large increase in playing time since Bagley went down with an injury, and we will likely see him play minutes in the high 30s tonight to counter the Hawks having either Capela or Collins or both on the floor at pretty much all times.
NBA Betting Card
- Hawks -3, risking 1.1u to win 1u
- Over 231 points, Risking 1.1u to win 1u
- Capela under 14.5 rebounds, risking 1.25u to win 1u
- Holmes over 9.5 rebounds, risking 1.1u to win 1u

NBA DFS Tips For Today
Any game where we have the Kings is a game we can target is in NBA DFS consideration. Remember, the Kings are running at a very fast pace and have been by far the worst team in the league so far this season on the defensive end of the floor. The Hawks are generally way too cheap on several sites with Trae Young being under 9k over at DraftKings and Collins being underpriced on nearly all DFS sites for the production he’s had recently and for the production that we can expect tonight. Additionally, over on the Kings side of things, Haliburton is a bargain at his current price tag, considering he’s been playing in the mid-30s in close games. Unfortunately, his shots just haven’t been falling but he’s bound to end his slump sooner or later. Lastly, Fox is always a GPP play and draws a very good matchup against Trae Young defense.
NBA Odds Boost of the Day
If you live in a regulated slate, there are a few good NBA odds boosts that that you’ll want to take advantage of to help build that bankroll. My favorite odds boost can be found over at PointsBet Sportsbook where they have Jokic to get 30+ points and 10+ rebounds. The prop is boosted from +250 to +275 and the RG projections have Jokic projected for 11.8 boards and 26.5 points. I’ll bite.
