NBA Crossover Review: Wednesday, February 10th

The Grinder review series will provide the reader with a breakdown of the exposures of “top of the leaderboard” players, the top single-entry lineup, and a comparison between all single entry lineups and professionals for Wednesday slate GPPs.

This week we looked at the $350K Wednesday Crossover [$50K to 1st!] on DraftKings with a buy-in of $27.

Multi-Entry Grinders of the Game

With only five entries, 00oreo00 centered his lineups around a core group consisting of Elfrid Payton, Evan Fournier, Rajon Rondo, and Jahlil Okafor. From there, he diversified between different teams who were missing key players out with injuries (bumping up others stars’ usage rates or a capable backup moving into a starting role): Derrick Rose, Mike Conley, Brandon Jennings, Anthony Tolliver, Zach Randolph, Jahlil Okafor, and Pau Gasol.

As bcalicore had 200 entries in play, he diversified between several studs in play, but refrained from owning more than 42% of any one player besides Rondo and his injury fill-in ‘must-plays’ in Darrun Hilliard and Anthony Tolliver.

With only four entries, Kobe4MVP stacked the Clippers as a contrarian strategy in 75% of his lineups. This stack was producing even prior to overtime, but the additional time helped push him into a 25th place finish.

Single-Entry Winner of the Game

As the highest finish single-entry player on the board in sixth place, frank1212 seemed to be all over the place with his lineup, but managed to make it work. Jeremy Lin had been a nice spot start when he was starting but lacked the minutes as of late. However, the LAL/CLE game was projected to be a potential blowout with the Lakers as a 16-point dog, making it a contrarian game to stack. It ended up running 21 points past the projected game total in which Kobe, who had averaged 26 FGA over his last three games, conceded to some shot attempts to both Clarkson/Williams who both shot over .500.

Single-Entry vs. 00oreo00/bcalicore/Kobe4MVP

Out of 14,899 entries in the Crossover, 4,080 of those entries were entered courtesy of players using a single bullet. The table below compares the exposures of those single entries to the exposures of 00oreo00, bcalicore, Kobe4MVP, and 25 other top professionals picked off of RotoGrinders’ leaderboard:
