NBA Daily Plays: February 20, 2013

Alright back again for the first time in a week. The All-Star break couldn’t end fast enough for some of us and now we get our first really big night again. There are 11 games on tap for this Wednesday and some great games in the NBA. There are some seriously nice GPP’s and promos going on tonight so check out what is happening around the industry in the Promos article here on RG.

PG

Greivis Vasquez Vasquez still has a relatively decent salary despite the nice season he has had thus far. Tonight he takes on the porous Cavalier PG defense and he should score a healthy amount of points.

Kemba Walker Kemba is a bit inconsistent but all you have to do is look at last night to see what type of potential he has. Detroit doesn’t offer much in the way of defense so I think Kemba could be in for another nice outing.

SG

DeMar DeRozan This matchup seems a bit tough on paper, but I wanted to include DD in this column because it has become clear to me that it is DD, not Lowry, who is benefiting from the Rudy Gay arrival the most. In 8 games with of playing alongside Rudy Gay, DeRozan put up 2 unacceptable games but also ripped off 30, 30,26,37,24 &32 Fanduel points. Not too shabby for an afterthought.

Dion Waiters If you want to know why Kyrie Irving has been struggling a bit of late, it’s because Byron Scott has inserted Waiters alongside him in the backcourt and given Waiter free reigns to do as he pleases. When Waiters gets double digit shot attempts he is a very secure fantasy play for his price and he has been seeing plenty of those shot attempts lately.

SF

Paul Pierce Pauly P had an off night last night and now he gets a bounce back game against as good of a matchup as you could ask for. The struggling L.A. Lakers. His price isn’t out of hand and he should post some nice Rondo-less numbers.

Gerald Wallace Everyone knows to play Durant and LBJ at SF if you can, so I thought it was prudent to recognize that Gerald Wallace has been playing very adequately of late. His recent nice 3 game stretch coincides with Deron Williams being out of the lineup and also playing hurt last night. Wallace has benefited from a gimpy Deron.

PF

Dirk Nowitzki Dirk Diggler with the sweet matchup versus Orlando tonight and he also just happens to be playing well finally. Oh and the biggest factor for me is that the old guy has had a nice little 6 day vacation to rest. Usually these older players come back strong for the first couple games after the break.

Ersan Ilyasova Yeah on paper this is a tough matchup against the PF spot of Brooklyn. But when ‘Sova throws up damn near a 40 spot the night before against the same team on the road, I think he becomes a guy to look at the next night at home also.

Brook Lopez Speaking of last night, Lopez went to town on this Bucks team. That is twice now this year against Milwaukee that Lopez has posted 37 point games. Seems pretty solid to me.
