NBA Daily Plays: November 4, 2013
Only four games tonight and not a ton of great values, so it will be interesting to see where people choose to save money or if more balanced lineups are the way to go tonight. In addition, the Boston @ Memphis games doesn’t seem to be very fantasy friendly with a 185.5 over/under line. But there’s a lot of players I like on the PHI/GSW and the LAC/HOU games.

Point Guard

Chris Paul – CP3 has been a beast to start the year, he’s averaging 54.47 FD fantasy pts while playing over 36 minutes per game, and he now he faces the Jeremy Lin and the Rockets with 2 days of rest at home. I expect CP3 to have another big game and pay off his price. He also leads the league in assists, 3rd in steals, he also leads all players with 109.3 touches per game.
Michael Carter-Williams – Rookie MCW has had 2 huge games of at least 47 FD pts, his price is still very reasonable across sites. He gets a nice matchup vs Stephen Curry at home where he had his 2 big games. The Warriors did allow CP3 to get 72.9 fantasy points, so the match-up is pretty good. GSW is allowing over 49 fantasy points to PGs on average so far this season, 3rd most among all teams.
Value Plays: Jeremy Lin, Tony Wroten
Shooting Guard
Evan Turner – With only 4 games tonight, there’s a not a lot of appealing options tonight at this position. The unbeaten 76ers have been a big surprise so far this season, and they’ve won the last 5 home games over Golden State Warriors. Evan Turner is averaging over 36 minutes a game, 33.87 fantasy points, and also this game has the highest over/under from all games tonight.
Klay Thompson – Golden State’s dynamic backcourt can score in bunches, Curry and Klay will attempt to cool down the 76ers as they look to get a good start on their road trip. Klay is also averaging over 36 minutes a game and over 32 fantasy points a game. The Warriors are favored by 9 points, and expected to score about 110 points in this game.
Value plays: James Anderson, CJ Miles, Francisco Garcia
Small Forward
Chandler Parsons – Again, not a lot of great options at this position, but Parsons did score 24 points, 12 rebounds and six assists on Saturday against Utah. He’s also averaging 39 minutes a game and 29.77 fantasy points. The Clippers are just average in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing SF. This game has the 2nd highest over/under of the night.
Andre Iguodala – Andre hasn’t been great this season, but he did put up 36 fantasy points on Halloween night against the Clippers. Production is all about opportunity and matchups, and Iggy is in a great spot tonight averaging 36.7 minutes a game and the 76ers are allowing the most points to opposing SF. Recently Ariza had almost 40 Fantasy points vs them.
Value play: Draymond Green if Harrison Barnes remains out
Power Forward
Kevin Love – What is not to like about Kevin Love? He’s averaging 52.1 fantasy points, he’s pricey, but he has been worth it every night. Last night he had another huge night with 34 points and 15 rebounds along with 5 assists.
Zach Randolph – His last 2 games were much better than the first one where he only played 25 minutes. During the last 2 games, he’s averaging 35 minutes and 35.9 fantasy points. He has a good match up vs Brandon Bass, the Celtics are allowing 37.35 fantasy points to PF this season so far.
Value play: Brandon Bass
Center

Spencer Hawes – Spencer has been on fire this season so far, he’s shooting 64.9% from the field. He’s averaging 39.77 fantasy points in 31 minutes a game. He’ll save you some money if you play him instead of Dwight Howard. Hawes is averaging 19.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3 assists all career highs. His FG% is not sustainable but you should use him until he cools down.
Value play: Vitor Faverani, Omer Asik
