NBA Daily Plays (Tournament Edition): Friday, Dec. 6th
Another big night in the industry tonight. Draftstreet has their main event qualifier up, tonight’s buy-in is $109 so it’s a good chance to possibly get a seat without having to beat out a ton of people. The other major sites all have big tournaments going on so let’s get right into the picks. These picks are all players that have a high ceiling that make solid GPP plays tonight.

Point Guard

- Kemba Walker – One of my favorite positions to target in daily fantasy basketball is the PG that is facing the Sixers. They have given up the most fantasy points in the league to opposing PG’s this season and it’s not even close. Kemba should find plenty of open shots against this defense and he is playing at home where his numbers are much better throughout his career. Expect Kemba to post a monster stat line tonight.
- Brandon Knight – Knight is the ultimate tournament play tonight. I would like to trust him in cash games as well, but Coach Larry Drew loves to screw with his player’s minutes. For that reason, I think he makes sense as a GPP play. He’s played well as the starter and can really fill up the stat sheet. I like his matchup against the Wizards and could see him topping 30 FP’s here.
Shooting Guard
- Victor Oladipo – Oladipo has an extremely high ceiling and is actually in play for both cash games and tournaments tonight. He sees big minutes and does so many things on the court that he doesn’t have to rely on his offense for his fantasy point production. He has a nice matchup against the Knicks and as long as this game stays close, look for Oladipo to have another big game.
- Gerald Henderson – Henderson has a great matchup against the Sixers who are giving up the most points per game in the league. While the Bobcats have really struggled offensively this season, facing the Sixers typically cures all offensive woes. Henderson is flying under the radar today and makes a great tournament play. The backcourt combo of Walker/Henderson could prove to be a lethal combo.
Small Forward

- Trevor Ariza – There are so many reasons to like Ariza in GPP’s. He sees 35+ minutes per night, he can fill the stat sheet including blocks and steals, and he has a nice offensive game to boot. He has back to back games with 35+ fantasy points and if he can put up similar numbers tonight, he will be worth taking and then some.
- Al-Farouq Aminu – It’s hard to put into words the production that Aminu has had over the last two games. Out of nowhere, he has become a top fantasy stud. With Anthony Davis out, he is seeing a major spike in minutes and it has shown in his performances. His price has come up on DS, but is still low on most other major sites. Use him where he is cheap.
Power Forward
- Jared Sullinger – After seeing what Tristan Thompson did to this Nuggets defense the other night, I am very high on Sullinger. He has really been playing well lately and should be able to top 30 FP’s against this very weak interior. Sully has always been a great rebounder and should be the leading rebounder in this game. His price is cheap across the board and his upside in this matchup is great.
- John Henson – Henson has played well since being inserted into the starting lineup and tonight the Bucks will be without both Pachulia and Udoh. If there was ever a night for Henson to get a lot of minutes, tonight would be it. He is a walking double-double and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him post a 15 point, 15 rebound, 5 block performance tonight. Book it!
Center
- Dwight Howard – I soured on taking Dwight in cash games a long time ago, but I do like his upside for tournaments. His price has come down across the board and he finally topped 30 FP’s in his last game. He has a nice one on one matchup against the much slower Bogut tonight and the Rockets would be smart to put him in a pick and roll with Harden. No Dwight for cash games, but he’s in play in tournaments.
As always, thanks for reading and best of luck tonight! Take down some of these tournaments!
