GENERAL SLATE THOUGHTS
8:00 AM ET: We have a whopper of a 13-game slate tonight, so let’s not waste any time. Only two teams are on the second night of a back-to-back, and we shall begin there like normal.
Boston Celtics: What could’ve/should’ve been a great game last night between Boston and Milwaukee was anything but, as the Celtics cruised through the final three quarters to a 140-99 demolishing of the Bucks. Payton Pritchard was the only relevant player (and that is putting it kindly, since I’m sure Payton’s family are avid readers of Core Plays) out last night for Boston, as he just recently returned from a heel issue.
Looking ahead to tonight, this is normally a spot we’d expect some regulars to get some rest. That is what Boston has done most of the season, especially with vets (Al Horford) or players who are injury-prone (Time Lord). Based on how little everyone had to play last night though, it sounds like it’s no given that we see somebody(s) sit tonight.
Boston is really good with their injury reporting, so I am guessing we know what is going on here pretty early in the day. And if there are any questionable tags that pop up on the official injury report, it’s possible we get that news before the slate locks anyways; Boston hosts Utah tonight for a 7:30 PM ET tip-off.
